It's how I process experience, stay grounded, and make sense of the world.Alongside writing and performing original music, I've spent more than 25 years performing live across New Zealand, both as a solo artist and with bands.Whether I'm performing my own songs or providing live music for a wedding, corporate event or private celebration, my focus is always the same: creating genuine connection and the right atmosphere for the moment.

About me
Hi, I'm Tom.I'm a Wellington-based singer-songwriter, entrepreneur, and performance coach.Music has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I was surrounded by great songs from an early age, and by my teenage years I was writing my own.Since then I've spent more than two decades performing throughout New Zealand in original bands, cover bands, and as a solo musician.Outside of music, I've founded businesses, coached people to improve their health and performance, and become a father. Each of those experiences has shaped the way I write.My songs are influenced by life's highs and lows, relationships, fatherhood, ambition, growth, and the ongoing search for meaning. They're less about having the answers and more about exploring the questions.While I'm fortunate to wear a number of different hats in life, music is the thread that runs through all of them. It's where I feel most present, most creative, and most myself.Thanks for stopping by.

Original MusicMy original music is rooted in reflection and lived experience. Writing from the heart, my songs explore how we make sense of life; its beauty, contradictions, pain, joy, passion, and the quiet moments in between. I use music as a way to process my inner world and distil meaning from everyday experience.My songwriting is raw and intentional, shaped by years of personal growth, fatherhood, relationships, and a deep curiosity about what it means to live well. Whether performing stripped-back originals or weaving stories between songs, I invite listeners into a space of honesty and connection through music written to resonate.

Performance Booking Terms & Conditions
Tom Dorman MusicBooking ConfirmationA performance booking is confirmed once both parties have agreed to the booking details and any required deposit has been received.
Payment+ All prices are in New Zealand Dollars (NZD).
+ Deposits (where applicable) are non-refundable unless otherwise agreed.
+ The remaining balance is due on or before the performance date, unless alternative arrangements have been confirmed in writing.
+ Late payments may incur additional fees.
CancellationsIf you need to cancel or postpone your booking, please notify me as soon as possible.+ Deposits are generally non-refundable.
+ If a performance is cancelled within an agreed notice period, the full performance fee may still be payable.
+ Where possible, I will work with you to reschedule the performance.
Performance RequirementsThe client agrees to provide a safe performance environment, including:
+ Suitable access to the venue.
+ Adequate shelter where required.
+ Reliable power (if agreed as part of the booking).
+ A safe space for performance and equipment.
Artist CancellationIf I am unable to perform due to illness, injury, emergency, or circumstances beyond my reasonable control, I will notify you as soon as possible. Any payments made will be refunded unless an alternative performer or rescheduled date is agreed.
Force MajeureNeither party will be liable for failure to fulfil the booking where circumstances beyond reasonable control prevent the performance from taking place. This includes (but is not limited to) severe weather, natural disasters, government restrictions, venue closure, or other unforeseen events.
Photography & Promotion
Unless otherwise agreed, I may use photographs or short video clips taken during public performances for promotional purposes. If your event is private and you would prefer that no content is shared, please let me know before the performance.
Liability
Reasonable care will be taken during all performances. Liability is limited to the value of the booking fee, except where required by New Zealand law.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
AcceptanceBy confirming a booking, paying a deposit, or making payment in full, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted these Terms & Conditions.
